All of us in this small photography group love landscapes. We connect them with the longing for travel, the need to discover new regions, and places that offer us a sense of inner calm. We also connect them with the fun of short excursions with dear friends. Even so, there is an artistic and creative restlessness inside us for something different. Something that will take us out of the safety of landscape photography and rock our photographic boat a little, giving us a different kind of creative breath.
After our usual group discussions at headquarters, we concluded that it would be good to try our hand at portraiture, a genre in which our experience is still limited. In this attempt, Nasia Nikolaidou came our way and gladly agreed to collaborate with us on this project.
Our first choice of location was the lavender fields in the area of Olympic Beach, but the deep purple colour of this aromatic shrub had faded because of the summer weather conditions. And so we began the shoot using the surrounding fields and Olympus as our background, enjoying the golden afternoon light. It was a very pleasant photographic experience, one that gave us fresh air and anticipation for more future projects. So it is with great pleasure that we present to you some of the photographs we took that day.
Until we meet again.
