Project: “Deserted Villages…”

The photographic theme for March is based on the lyrics of the first verse of the song “Deserted Villages,” written by lyricist Ilias Katsoulis and composed by Dasho Kurti.

The photographers’ choices were made either individually, inspired by any single line, or by selecting photographs for each line separately, thus creating a visual illustration of the song.

Deserted villages,
on the train to the border,
a heavy spring on the scales of the heart,
unknown birds among the rustling leaves,
and in places that smell of rain,
wild rain,
smell of rain,
wild rain.
