These, and so many other beautiful meanings, are what the Nude Body holds in my eyes. The society we live in has bound nudity in chains of prejudice. This is no accident. Some of us struggle to restore the nude body of today to its former, “healthy” state, so that it may once again stand with Dignity beside the nude statues of ancient Greece. Through Art, we struggle to free it from the prison into which an entire industry of exploitation has locked it.
The Nude is Beauty. The Pure Nude is Courage, and it fights hypocrisy with strength and resolve. The Nude Body can become the most tender embrace, but also the harshest reality. It can become Love in its absolute Sacredness and Purity. It can become Anger, Sorrow, and Fear. It can become Dance. A canvas of the Soul.
If you simply look at it with clarity, you may discern, within its lines, the deepest folds of your own Being. Perhaps you will find redemption. Perhaps an embrace of Acceptance. Perhaps only a little comfort, a little companionship. From absolute Nothingness to the Whole — that is our Nude Body.
As for the process of the photoshoot itself, in the age we live in, it is certainly not simple for an artist to expose their naked body before a group of people they do not know. Also, unfortunately — though to some extent understandably — there is criticism and disapproval directed toward many artists and photographers on this subject.
Personally, I would like to stress that my impressions of the entire photoshoot process with the Pixelscape Pieria group were the very best. Absolute respect, dignity, wonderful artistic ideas, and flawless collaboration. The artistic result is a highly subjective matter. But Dignity and Respect toward the Human Body are non-negotiable.
